Ronald Ellison,

Mr. Ronald A. Ellison, Sr. died at his residence in Port Orchard, Washington on January 29, 2002.Ronald was born on July 16, 1938 in Marion, North Dakota to Alert and Mildred(Hansen) Ellison.He attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, graduating in 1956. He later attended City University in Silverdale, Washington, graduating in 1978.Ronald served in the United States Army from 1956 until his retirement in 1976. He served in Vietnam from 1968 until 1969. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Ronald had obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class(SFC).Following his tour of service, Ronald was employed at Naval Submarine Base Bangor as a Wharehouseman for twenty years.Ronald greatly enjoyed bowling, and was a life time member of the National Rifle Association(N.R.A.).Ronald is survived by his wife, Joan of the family home; three sons, Ronald Jr. of Port Orchard; Raymond of Belfair, Washington; Richard of Vancouver, Washington; a daughter, Robin Kasper of Belfair; brothers, Vernon Ellison of Yuma, Arizona; Raymond Ellison of Unionville, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Visitation for Ronald Ellison Sr. is scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2002, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel.Reverend Larry Mead will be officiating.A reception will follow the service at Rill Chapel.Commital will be held privately on Monday, February 4, 2002, at Twin Firs Cemetery in Belfair, Washington.The family has asked that any memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Kitsap Unit, Post Office Box 2382, Bremerton, Washington, 98310.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home in Port Orchard.
