Ronald M. Long, 72 of Port Orchard, Washington died in Bremerton, Washington on October 11, 2007. He was born August 2, 1935 in Bremerton to Myron & Margaret (Farley) Long. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1952. Ronald married Lila Fowler on December 31, 1979. Ronald worked for 40 years as a Torpedo Engineer at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport, Washington, retiring in 2006. He also worked for 18 years at McGavin's Bakery in Bremerton. Ronald served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1954 to 1958 in Long Beach, California and Alaska. He worked on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Sedge. Ronald enjoyed golf, model ship building, football, yard work, and his dogs. Surviving are his wife Lila; sons Robert, Kevin, Kenny, Jamie, Teddy, & Ronnie Long and Eldon, Rocky & Steven Walter; daughters Ella Pecoraro, Cheri Johnson, Linda Arvizu, Shelly Payseno, & Gimi Willie; brother Richard Long; sister Margaret (Peggy) Schram; 25 grandchildren; & 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service at 11:00 am on October 18, 2007 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association.
