Ronald Mathews

Ronald Gene Mathews, aka “Toad”, 66, of Belfair, WA passed away July 24, 2011 of natural causes. Ron was born May 29, 1945 in Bremerton, WA to Chester and Irene Mathews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron attended North Mason High School and then joined the Army at the age of 17. He married Janie Anderson May 20, 1967 in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. He then joined the Navy and served in Vietnam as a SeaBees. After receiving an honorable discharge he joined the Teamsters where he worked at Lincoln Construction and later retired from Ace Paving after 30 years. Ron loved his family more than life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making people laugh. Ron is survived by his wife of 44 years Janie Mathews; his children Judi (Keith) Euten, Ronnie (Jennifer) Mathews, and Josh Mathews; and grandchildren Mathew, Michael, Natalie, Jake, Riley, and Taylor. A memorial will be held at 1PM, Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Belfair Assembly of God Church.
