Ronnie L. Deatherage, 72, of Port Orchard passed away at Franciscan Hospice in University Place on March 9, 2016. He was born in October 23, 1943 in Eminence, MO to Lonnie and Ruth Williams Deatherage.
Ronnie and his mother moved to Clinton, IA in 1958. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1961. In January 1965, Ronnie entered the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam from March 1967 to March 1968. Ronnie’s primary job was jet plane mechanic. He left the Air Force in October 1968.
In September 1969, Ronnie married Diana. They moved to Port Orchard, WA in 1980 and he was employed by PSNS in Shop 56. Ronnie retired from the Shipyard in 1997.
After retirement, Ronnie took up the sport of golfing. He got his first Hole-in-One at Lakeland Golf Course in 2001. Ronnie also enjoyed going to the casinos and travelling as long as it revolved around golfing or casinos. He also enjoyed meeting with his morning coffee friends at McDonalds.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Diana of 46 ½ years, daughter Beth, 10 nephews and 2 nieces, as well as several great nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
