Rose Christerson

Rose "Rosie the Barber" Christerson died July 20, 2002 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. she was 92.She was born January 1, 1910 in Los Angeles, California to Meyer and Ida (Harris) Elkins.She married Roy W. Christerson in Seattle, Washington in 1937.Rosie owned and operated her own barber shop for over seventy five years on Bethel Road in Port Orchard, Washington and retired in 2000.She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Bethel Grange.She is survived by sons Stan Christerson of Ocean Shores, Washington and Jim "Roy" Christerson of Port Orchard, Washington, and daughter Jeanette Christerson of Seattle, Washington, 4 grandchildren (David, Duane, John, Kalob Christerson); and, was preceded in death by her husband Roy W. Christerson, brothers Montie Elkins, Nathan Elkins, Morse Elkins and Louis Elkins.Services will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington Thursday, July 25, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery July 25, 2002.Donations may be made to:Harrison Memorial Hospital2520 Cherry AvenueBremerton, WA. 98310
