Ross Hatfield

February 22, 1939 — October 6, 2010

Ross D. Hatfield, of Port Orchard, passed away in Seattle on October 6, 2010 at the age of 71.  He was born in Newburyport, MA on February 22, 1939.  His parents were Robert and Yvonne Hatfield. He served in the US Navy and US Army.  While stationed in Kansas he met his wife, Patricia.  A Vietnam veteran, he retired after 22 years as a Sergeant First Class.  Returning to Kitsap County he worked many years at Naval Base Bangor. He was a Life Member and Past Master of Port Orchard Masonic Lodge #98; Past Master of Wm. H. Upton Naval Lodge #206; Life Member of Port Orchard Eastern Star #44; Member of the Bremerton Scottish Rite; Life Member and Past Commander of VFW #239; Life Member of DAV #5, and worked with various youth organizations. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia; daughters Coral and Renee; son John; mother Yvonne; sister Beth; brothers Tom, Joe, Richard and Jim; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services and a celebration of life will be held at the Port Orchard Masonic Temple on Friday October 15, 2010 at 2pm.  A private graveside service will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park, Ferndale, WA at a later date. Remembrances can be made to Kitsap County Fire District #7, 1974 Fircrest Dr. SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
