Roy Willis Grammer

June 24, 1924 — July 25, 2015

Roy Willis Grammer of Port Orchard passed away on July 25, 2015 at the age
of 91. He passed only 2 months after losing his beloved wife of 71 years,
on the date that would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary.

Born to Roy and Lena Grammer on June 24, 1924 in Corvallis, Oregon, he was
one of 3 siblings. He grew up on a farm and lived in California most of his
life. In 1943 he married the love of his life, Evelyn Jessee. They had a
son and 2 daughters. Family being his first priority, he left his
hometown to join them in moving to Washington in 2000.

Roy served in the USN during WWII aboard the USS Dempsey. Being a true
blue seaman, he continued to wear his navy dungarees nearly every day.
For him, no other pants would do!

Roy was an extremely hard worker and was always proud and supportive of
his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, remodeling cars,
playing cards and spending time with loved ones. Roy had a heart of pure
gold, he would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He was a
loyal and genuine man.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, both siblings, his beloved wife
Evelyn, son David, daughter Lori and grandson Delaney. He is survived by
his eldest daughter Julie as well as 6 grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Roy will be sorely missed by his family and friends, he was loved by so many.

Roy and Evelyn will be memorialized together among a family gathering at
the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
