Russell Vanchiere

Russell Perry Vanchiere, 45, of Port Orchard, WA, died May 22, 2003, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle after a brief battle with lung cancer.Russell was born November 29, 1957, in Baton Rouge, LA, to Charles and Janell (Fenton) Vanchiere. He married Michelle (Lougheed) Vanchiere on November 5, 1981, in Nevada.Russell served in the United States Army and then worked as a crane operator at Boeing in Auburn, WA, for 18 years. While at Boeing, he was well known in his work area for being the safety rep for 10 years.Russell's life was full of activity. He enjoyed camping, barbequeing, fishing, and building camp fires. Russell organized and attended garage sales. He enjoyed go-peding with his family around the Northwest and playing the slot machines in Nevada where his sister lived. He was an NFL fanatic fan and loved his family.Russell is survived by his wife Michelle, of Port Orchard; his father Charles Vanchiere, of Baton Rouge; sons Zachary Angelo Vanchiere, of Port Orchard, and Quinton and Kelley Vanchiere, both of Utah; sister Melani Armer, of Reno, NV; half sisters Maria Vanchiere and Mitzie Vanchiere, both of Baton Rouge; his grandmother Virginia Bonham, of American Fork, UT; and a granddaughter Brehanna Hester.A memorial campfire will be held at the family home in Port Orchard on Monday, May 26, 2003, at 1:00PM.
