Ruth Pauline Bates died in Bremerton, Washington November 9, 2002. She was was 76.She was born to Isaac and Elta (Cox) Price November 24, 1925 in Ithica, New York.She attended Santa Rosa High School in Santa Rosa, California.Ruth married Homer Bates in Santa Rosa, California.She was a cosmotologist Instructor in Santa Rosa, California for 7 years; and, worked 20 years in the J.C. Penney's Styling Saloon - retiring in 1988.Ruth enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is survived by daughters - Vicki Lee Bates of Fairfield, California, Theresa Johnson of Belfair, Washington, Ann Bates of Fairfield, California; brother Donald (& Patricia) Deas of Grass Valley, California; sisters - Maxine (& Charles) Fisher of New Bedford, Pennsylvania, Eva Cook and Mary Ball of Matewan, West Virginia; 4 grandchildren - Michael (& wife Michelle) Johnson, Patrick (& wife Katie) Johnson, Christopher (& wife Brooke) Johnson, and Jacob (& wife Deanne) Johnson, and 5 great-grandchildren - Tony, Amanda, Katie, Julie and Terri Johnson.A memorial service will be held Friday, November 15, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington.An inurnment will follow at Twin Firs Cemetery in Belfair, Washington November 15, 2002 at 12:30 p.m.
