Ruth Blasberg

July 27, 1919 — August 18, 2007

Ruth Marie (Danel) Blasberg. was born on July 27, 1919 in Seattle Washington and passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Port Orchard, Washington on August 18, 2007. Ruth was raised in Manette and graduated in 1935 from Bremerton High School. She worked and traveled extensively throughout her life. In 1941 she met her husband Marlow, at Pearls Pavilion and they were married in Hollywood California. In 1961 she returned to Kitsap County and Ruth took an active role in her church, St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, where she spent 17 years working wedding receptions. She enjoyed sharing her history and knowledge of the area by volunteering at Bremerton Visitor Center in the 90's, befriending many newcomers. Mom was a 27 year breast cancer survivor. She was proceeded in death by her husband Marlow F. Blasberg Sr., stepbrother Ellsworth Holmes and brother Harold (Hazel) Danel. She was Mother to Marlow F. (Skip) Blasberg Jr. (Loretta), Perry M. Blasberg (Marlene), Marlys M. (Blasberg) Recknagle (Edward) and Danel (Blasberg) Oberholtzer (Jim Heimer); Grandmother to Grandsons Erik Recknagle, Jeremy Recknagle (Meaghan), Marlow F. (Rick) Blasberg III (Danellyn), Ryan Recknagle, Brandon Blasberg (Dawn), Andrew Oberholtzer, Jacob Oberholtzer, Connor Blasberg & granddaughter Kelsey Blasberg; and Great-Grandmother to Great-grandchildren brothers Baely and Alexander Recknagle, and Ava Blasberg. Love you Mom, miss you. Memorial service 11:00 am on November 10, 2007 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard with a reception following. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County or charity of choice.
