Ruth Maxine Hanson, 90 of Tacoma, died November 13, 2009. She was born March 24, 1919 in Boelus, NE to Charles & Martha (Hawkins) Monasmith. She graduated from HS in Scotts Bluff, NE and Northwest College in Kirkland with a Teaching Certificate. Maxine married Morton E. Hanson on May 18, 1944 in Seattle. Maxine worked for 40 years in South Kitsap as a substitute Teacher for grades K-6, retiring in 2000. She was also a licensed minister for the Assemblies of God. Maxine enjoyed music, and sang & played the trombone, piano, & accordion. She taught Bible classes and Sunday School and was a member of Christian Life Center and South Park Assembly of God, both in Port Orchard. Surviving are daughter Dyan Hanson of Port Orchard; grandchildren Sherr'ee Kelbel of Sequim, WA and Shell'ee Argo of Lacey, WA; and great-grandchildren Jaque, Anthony, Taylor, Andrew, Logan, Ryan, McKenna, Riley, Jordan, Sydney & Mason. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister. Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm on December 5, 2009 at Christian Life Center in Port Orchard.
