Ruth Beyer Hein

December 2, 1932 — June 6, 2015

Ruth Beyer Hein, age 82 of Port Orchard, WA, lost her long battle with Parkinson's disease on June 6, 2015. Born December 2, 1932 in New Orleans, LA, to Frank and Helene (Kroencke) Beyer, she is survived by her brother Frank Kroencke Beyer, children David Hein and Karen Jake (née Hein), and grandchildren Aaron, Cameron, Abigail, and Lorelei. She is predeceased by her husband, James Hein.

Over the years, Ruth was a professional occupational therapist, active skier and folk dancer, dedicated mother, and a supporter of scouting and the local theater. She went back to school in her 50's to obtain her masters degree in library science, cared for her husband and father during their final years, traveled to Oregon to provide live-in summer care for her grandsons, and enjoyed baking, sewing, and doll collecting.

A gathering in her honor will be held at the home of Bill and Karen Jake on June 28, 2015 from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
