Ruth Frieda Lovik, 85 of Port Orchard died in Neah Bay, WA on June 21, 2008. She was born February 27, 1923 in Pocatello, ID to Jacob & Frieda (Pieper) Meyers. She graduated from Pocatello HS in 1941 and married Melvin A. Lovik April 30, 1950 in Port Orchard. He preceded her in death in 2002. Ruth was a homemaker and mother. She worked as a Machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton during the war. She was co-owner of T.B.& M. Grocery Stores, owner and operator of Coast-To-Coast stores in Port Orchard and East Bremerton, and also owned Washburns General Merchandise Store in Neah Bay. Ruth loved gardening, especially flowers. She enjoyed cooking for family & friends, fishing and camping. She was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are sons Melvin (Mary Ann) Lovik of Neah Bay, Steven (Brenda) Lovik of Port Angeles WA, Brent (Eve) Lovik of Olalla WA & Brian (Sandra) Lovik of Neah Bay; brothers Reed ((Maeno) Meyers of Port Orchard & Max (Barbara) Meyers of Winlock WA; sisters Grace Wilton of Saint George UT, Gloria Meyers of Spokane WA & Sharon Meyers of Greenville CA; 14 grandchildren; & 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Barry Dean Lovik & brothers Robert & Carl Meyers and Robert Wilton. Private graveside services at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Reception at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1550 Hoover Ave in Port Orchard at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2008.
