Ruth Siegfried

Ruth Dorothy (Benson) Siegfried born December 29, 1909 in Leadville, CO to John and Susan Benson, died at home with her family at her side on March 5, 2007. Ruth moved to Bremerton with her family in 1923 and graduated as Valedictorian of the class from Bremerton High School in 1926. Ruth continued her education at Wilson?s Modern Business College and graduated with honors in 1927 from their Business Administration courses. Ruth met Robert B. Siegfried while both were employed at Puget Sound Power and Light Company in Bremerton and were married on April 25, 1942. She later worked as a Legal Secretary and Court Administrator for Kitsap County District Court and Municipal Court in Bremerton from 1952 until retiring in December 1975. Ruth and Bob moved from Bremerton to Port Orchard in December 1961 and lived there until moving to Pacific Regents in Bellevue, Washington in July 1998. Ruth led her life by always looking for the good in everyone and in every situation. She enjoyed spending time with her family, golfing and needlepoint. She also was active in many organizations including Lady Elks of Bremerton, State President of Court Administrators Association of Washington, Lady Kiwanians, Navy League of Bremerton, Children?s Orthopedic Guild, Secretary for the Kitsap County Fair and member of the Lutheran Church. Ruth leaves behind her husband of 64 years Robert B. Siegfried, daughter Virginia (Gary) Bellinghausen and daughter-in-law Jackie Siegfried, grandchildren Marlinda Siegfried, Brad (Margaret) Siegfried, Kristen (Pete) Krebs and Kevin Bellinghausen and fiancé Zoe Macfarlane and Great Grandson Ethan Krebs, niece Susan (Don) Ortolani and nephews Charles (Nancy) and William Siegfried. Ruth was predeceased by her parents John and Susan Benson, her brothers Ralph, Chester and Julius Benson, her sister Eva Benson and her son Robert B. Siegfried Jr. Private family services to follow at a later date.
