Mr. Samuel Lewis Taylor Jr., Age:93, died of natural causes at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton. He had been a long time resident of Bremerton/Kitsap County, Washington.Samuel was born on September 14, 1908 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Samuel and Grace(Winter)Taylor. He attended Hollywood High School in Hollywood, California, graduating in 1930. In 1938 Samuel married Agnes Jordan.Samuel, known to friends and family as "Papa Sam", was a Painter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for twenty six years. He retired in 1972."Papa Sam" enjoyed oil painting on canvas and fishing. He was an active member of the Silverdale Baptist Church.Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Agnes, of Bremerton; a daughter, Patricia Bilden of Bremerton; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janie Krein; two sisters, Helen Karlson and Henrietta Harrison; and two brothers, Ross and Al Taylor.A funeral service will be held in his honor at Rill Chapel, Port Orchard, on Saturday, January 5, 2002, at 1:30 P.M.. Curt Degraaff will officiate. Viewing is scheduled from 12:30-1:30 P.M., on the day of the service. A reception will follow the service at Rill Chapel. Interment will be held privately at Sunset Lane Cemetery.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
