Selma Bloomquist

Selma "Sally" H. Bloomquist of Port Orchard, Washington died September 30, 2004 at Ridgemont Terrace Care Center in Port Orchard. She was 92. She was born October 5, 1911 in Cathlamet, Washington to John and Helen (Antone) Doumit. Sally married Ernest W. Bloomquist September 21, 1940 in Cathlamet, Washington. He died in 1995. She graduated from Wahkiakum High School in Cathlamet, Washington; and attended St. Vincent School of Nursing in Portland, Oregon. She also graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Eugene, Oregon in 1938. Sally worked as a registered nurse in Cathlamet, Washington and taught at St. Vincent School of Nursing in Portland, Oregon. She was a member of the Port Orchard Yacht Club, St. Vincent Alumni Association, charter member of the Jenny L. Miller Guild of Children's Hospital. Sally was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed her family. She is survived by son - Bill Bloomquist (& wife, Dayna) of Port Orchard; daughters - Kathy Holt (& husband, Pete) of Port Orchard, Susan Miller (& husband, Ralph) of Port Orchard; sisters - Marian Peterson of Seaside, Oregon, Leona Boyer of Cathlamet, Helen Wampler of Fresno, California; 10 grandchildren (Melany Bloomquist Chobot, Karla Bloomquist Simpson, Joe Bloomquist, Willie Bloomquist, Tom Holt, Kirk Holt, Dan Holt, Eric Miler, David Miller, Bryan Miller); 11 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, Washington on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.
