Selva Plahs

Selva Jean Plahs died September 19, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. She was 65.She was born August 19, 1938 in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania to Edward and Frances (Baughman) Helmberger.Selva married Frank Plahs March 5, 1956 in Winchester, Virginia.She attended Bellavon High School in Salina, Pennsylvania; and graduated fro El Monte High School in El Monte, California in 1974 (She went back and graduated 18 years after her original time).Most of her life was dedicated to raising her children; she worked in the accounting department with ADP (Automatic Data Processing); she taught line dancing in a commuity center in California.Selva loved gardening and had to rent an extra trailer to bring her plants from California when whe moved; quilting; cross stitching; spending time with her 2 dogs (went everywhere with her); well known for her home made mashed potatoes, and always had fudge in the house.She was a member of the Lutheran Church.Selva is survived by her husband, Frank Plahs, of the Port Orchard, Washington home; sons - Gary Lee Plahs of Port Orchard, Washington, Todd Edward Plahs (& wife, Pamela) of Bon Air, Virginia; daughter - Darlene Plahs Slagle (& husband, Brian) of Port Orchard, Washington; sisters - Marvyl Flaminio of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania; Charlotte Ciocca of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania; Beverly Carnahan of Avonmore, Pennsylvania and Linda Vander-Werff of Draper, Utah. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Melanie, Desiree, and Brittany Slagle, Amber Plahs, Timothy Plahs.A funeral service will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2003.Memorial Donations may be made to:Medic 71974 Fircrest Dr. SEPort Orchard, WA 98366
