Sharon Elizabeth “Stroble” McKenzie ~ Born in Curlew, WA on May 28, 1940, passed, peacefully, at her home in Port Orchard, WA on January 7, 2016. Several of her family members were by her side. She was 75 years young and her lively and artistic spirit will be missed, very much.
Though born in Curlew, Sharon was raised on Vashon Island, WA, where she attended school from Kindergarten to High School graduation in 1958. She worked at many professions in her lifetime, and was loved by her co-workers anywhere she worked, but this was especially true for K-2 Corporation located on her hometown Island, Vashon, WA. There, much of her family has worked at one time or another; and many of the folks who weren’t family, came to be as if they were to her. She, eventually, did retire from working in 2003.
Her greatest joys were her cat, Miss Kitty, playing pranks, working in her yard, cruising the yard sales and thrift stores, jig-saw puzzles, crosswords, murder mysteries and her incredibly large family and circle of friends, who adored her right back.
She is survived by her son, Patrick J. Palmer, daughter, Terrie A. Ulmer, 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. She is, also, survived by 4 brothers, 6 sisters and several nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
