Sharon Lee Tyler Covington

April 14, 1942 — July 17, 2019

Sharon Lee Tyler Covington passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the age of 77. Sharon was born to Oscar and Twila King in Longview, WA on April 14, 1942. Sharon and her sister Beverly grew up in the Longview, WA and Kelso, WA areas. Sharon graduated from Mark Morris High School in Longview, WA. As a child and young adult Sharon loved to roller skate, ice skate, dance and ride horses. She performed in many dance and ice skating competitions and shows, she loved to talk about her many performances for the United Service Organizations (USO). We still have some of the costumes from her shows, and have in the past tried them on - her son-in-law really rocked one of those skimpy dresses.

When Sharon wasn’t raising her children and working within the home, she kept busy working at a jewelry store, participated in the Peninsula Pacers CB radio club, Elks and Eagles.

Sharon is best remembered for her busy social life, she would go dancing Friday nights at the Elks or Eagles, and then hold large card parties at her house on Saturday evenings. Sharon also enjoyed camping, going to garage sales, hunting for garage sales, having garage sales, and shopping at garage sales. Did I mention she loved garage sales? For her it was the hunt for a good deal. When she wasn’t garage sale-ing, she also loved being with her family and friends.

Sharon is preceded by her loving husbands: Ronnie Nicholson, Richard Kramer, Joe Tyler and William Covington. Sharon is also preceded by her sister Beverly Ruth. She is survived by sons David (Jennifer) Kramer and John (Colleen) Tyler; daughters Teresa Tyler and Jodi (Thomas) Leary; grandchildren Matthias and Bailee Kramer, Luke and Josh Tyler, Gregg, Levi, and Brianna Tyler, and Tia and Alaina Leary; and puppies Abbi and Emi.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, WA. Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM.
