Shaun Thomas Welch

Shaun Thomas Welch, 16, our amazing son went to the arms of his heavenly Father on March 6 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 27, 1997, in Seattle and grew up in Port Orchard. He attended Sunnyslope Elementary, Cedar Heights Jr. High and South Kitsap High School.
Shaun fought bravely his lifelong illness, never letting it slow him down, depress him, stop him from achieving or thought of himself as handicapped. Shaun touched the hearts of all who met him, worked with him and loved him. He had a wonderful outlook of life and often would give others comfort.
Shaun is survived by his parents, Neal and Bernice Welch (Port Orchard); grandmother, Delores Welch (South Dakota); sisters, Kari (Kalvin) Guerrero of Silverdale, Kathryn, Emily, Amanda, Mikayla Welch; brother, Ethan Christianson of Port Orchard; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, one nephew, one great-niece, two great-nephews, and many friends.
A special thank you to everyone at Kitsap Hospice and all of Shaun's caregivers for loving him and taking such great care of him. God Bless You. Shaun's memorial service will be 2:00PM, Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Rill Tribute Center in Port Orchard. In lieu of flowers a remembrance can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County or your favorite charity.
