Sheila Rose Clark 69, passed away on January 3, 2025, at St. Michael’s Medical Center in
Silverdale after suffering from a catastrophic stroke in late December. Sheila was born to
Herman and Dolores Clark on May 11, 1955, in Bremerton, Washington. She was raised in
Bremerton and Olalla and attended local schools, graduating from South Kitsap High School in
1973. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Puget Sound and was
a first-grade teacher in the Bremerton school district retiring in 2020.
In her childhood years Sheila enjoyed camping and trout fishing with family at Spirit Lake. In
later years during the summer months, she enjoyed berry picking in the mountains and walking
the beaches on the Washington coast. She looked forward to family gatherings for holidays /
special occasions and monthly trips to the casino where she was often a lucky winner on the
slot machines!
Sheila was a member of the National Education Association (NEA) and was a kind and caring
first grade teacher leaving an enormous legacy in the thousand or so students that she
encouraged and positively influenced during her many years of teaching. She was also a
member of the United States Bowling Association (USBC) bowling on weekly leagues and
tournaments for many years. Her competitive spirit will be missed.
Sheila is survived by her brother Jerry and sister-in-law Connie Clark; three nephews, Jerry Jr.,
Ryan (Autumn), Daniel (Amber) and two grandnephews. She was predeceased in death by her
parents and younger brother Phillip Clark. We will have a family gathering in the spring or
summer. In lieu of flowers please donate in memory of Sheila to the American Kidney Fund on
