Sherman Hall

Sherman R. Hall of DuPont, Washington died on May 27, 2004 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. He was a Port Orchard, Washingon resident for 26 years. He was 72 years old. Sherman was born on February 10, 1932 in Hurricane, West Virginia to Clifton J. Hall and Gracie Adkins. He graduated from High School in West Virginia. He married Jean Hicks on December 8, 1962 in Yakima, Washginton. Sherman served in the U.S. Army from 1951 for 20 years, retiring at the rank of 1st Sergeant. He earned the Bronze Star Medal. He then went on to work at P.S.N.S., retiring after 20 years in 1992. He worked another 2 years at Sears in Silverdale, Washington as a paint department salesman. He enjoyed camping and his pets. Sherman was a member of the Bremerton Elks Club and First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Sherman is survived by his wife Jean of DuPont, her daughters Sandra Piksa of Tacoma, Washington and Charlene Weber of Pasco, Washington, his brother Leo Hall of West Virginia, sisters Gale and Alice Faye of West Virginia and various nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his brother Russell and sisters Shirley and Ada. Funeral sevices for Sherman will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Interment will be Monday, June 7, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1551 Broadway, Suite 200, Tacoma, WA 98402.
