Shirley Barkhurst

Shirley V. Barkhurst, 87, of Port Orchard died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. Shirley was born WA July 25, 1920 in Grandview, WA to Farrell and Mary (Allyn) Lymburner. She attend business college in the Seattle area for two years. She resided in Tacoma before moving to Port Orchard in 1954. She had since lived in Everett, Idaho, and Wenatchee before returning to Port Orchard twelve years ago. Her hobbies included gardening and her special pets, Missy, Muffin and Lucky. She also volunteered at Helpline for several years. Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Mary Borchers and Lauralyn (Laurie) and Jack Brooks of Port Orchard. There are 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren along with nieces, Fran Armstrong and Nancy and husband Gene Moore. She was preceded in death by a brother Phillip Lymburner. Funeral Service will be 1:30 Tuesday at Rill?s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
