Shirley Disney

Shirley Mae Disney, 69 of Elma, Washington, died in Port Orchard on August 8, 2009.  She was born November 3, 1939 in Yakima, Washington to Samuel & Gladys (McDonald) Shanks.  She graduated from Shelton High School in 1959 and married Norman L. Disney on May 13, 1961, also in Shelton. Shirley worked in the airline industry readying the aircraft interior for flight.  She also worked for Saint Gobain Performance Plastics as a lead Fabricator and in hi-tech plastics for Boeing.  Shirley was an avid reader, loved flower gardening and African Violets.  She volunteered at community clubs where they lived, was a Girl Scout Leader, member of the PTA, and helped with Christmas for underprivileged families. Surviving are husband Norman; sons Robert (Heyjin) Disney of Port Orchard and Anthony (Susan) Disney of Arizona; daughter Carey (David) Javonivich of Elma; brothers Kenneth, Mike (Barb), Tim (Jan) Shanks, all of Shelton, and Patrick (Jackie) Shanks of Longview; grandchildren Robert, Shira, Ashley, Loran, MayElla, Jessica, David, Josh, Jennifer & Jonathon; 3 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by brothers Robert & Samuel. Memorial Service at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2009 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
