Shirley was born January 8, 1939 in Moorehead, MN to Frank and Marie Payseno. Her family moved to Olalla, WA to build a better life when her dad went to work in the shipyard. She married Roy Bunnell in 1955 and they had 5 children. Mom was the best cook. We kids would love coming home from school and walking through the door to smell what was for dinner.
They saved enough money to buy land a build a beautiful house that was large enough for a family of 7. They worked hard and bought The Home Tavern and then opened The Sting Tavern. Then went on to own and operate several local Dairy Queens. Mom and Dad eventually divorced.
Mom met and married Clarence (Lee) Goninan. They both enjoyed the outdoors, bought RV's and joined the Port Orchard Ramblin Eagles. Mom loved to travel in the RV. Her favorite things were her flowers, especially her begonias. Mom loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her "going steady" partner, Steve Ferguson and will be remembered by all.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Donna Lunsford, Deanna Olson, Sherri (Ace) Bates, son Roy (Dixie) Bunnell, Jr. and daughter Susan (Curt) Geisler; brother Dick Payseno, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
