Shirley Ann Romo, 78, passed away peacefully March 31, 2015 following a lengthly illness.
She was born Sep. 2, 1936, in Denver, Colorado. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and brother's, Robert Carey, and Jack Tryon. She is survived by her husband Vince, her sister Virginia Teece, brother Don Carey, and her children, Jack, Jim, and Randy Romo, and grandchildren, Tanner Romo, Hayley Romo, and Lauren Brewer.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Vince in Cheyenne, Wyoming and soon moved to Port Orchard, where she was active in Pee Wee Sports and Little League. She was always there to attend her sons sporting events. This enthusiasm continued with her grandchildren.
Shirley and Vince loved their horses, she was an active member of Back Country Horseman and enjoyed packing into the wilderness. Her activities included boating, gardening, sewing, and made hundreds of blankets for the Humane Society.
A mass celebrating her life will held be April 7th, at 11 a.m. at St.Gabriel Church. 1150 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Services entrusted to Rill's Chapel Life Tribute Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Wounded Warrior Project.
