Shirley Ann Sidow, 68, of Port Orchard, WA, died September 18, 2001, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, after a battle with cancer.Shirley was born May 3, 1933, in Tacoma, to Harold and Eileen (Gruver) Campbell. She graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma before attending both Washington State University in Pullman, WA, and University of Puget Sound in Tacoma.Shirley worked as a secretary for the Teamsters Union in Seattle and then as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in Olalla, WA, and then Port Orchard.She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and the color purple. She also donated much of her time working at the South Kitsap Family Kitchen serving those in need.Shirley is survived by her daughters, Karen Hoem and her husband Ed, of Port Orchard, Colleen Hunter, of Tacoma, Bonnie Peterson and her husband Kevin, of Bellingham, WA, and Cindy Sidow-McCrory and her husband Dean, of Bellingham; sisters, Bonnie Erdahl, of Tacoma, and Millie Dickson, of University Place, WA; and 6 grandchildren, Craig Hoem, of Port Orchard, Michelle and Jim Ison, of Port Orchard, Jacob Warren Hunter, of Tacoma, and Karissa and Kelsey Peterson, of Bellingham.Services will be held Monday, September 24, 2001, 1:00PM, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Memorial donations may be made to the South Kitsap Family Kitchen, 2483 Mitchell Rd SE, Port Orchard, WA, 98366, or to the American Red Cross, 605 Washington, Bremerton, WA, 98337.
