Shirley Sommerfield

Shirley Sommerfield passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024. Shirley was born on September 14, 1949 in Seattle, Washington, the youngest child of Lester Sommerfield and Maxine McCowin. She lived the majority of her life in Bremerton. She graduated from West High School in 1967. She later attended Olympic College in Bremerton where she also became a cheerleader for the football team. Shirley graduated from Central Washington University with a master's degree in English and secondary education. She later taught English at the junior high level spending the majority of her career at Ridgetop Junior High in Silverdale as librarian. She had been retired for many years.
