Signe Sophia Bates

Signe S. Bates, 94, of Port Orchard, WA passed away December 4, 2020 in Gig Harbor, WA. Signe was born January 3, 1926 in Poulsbo, WA. In her early years, she worked at the Kitsap County Courthouse (Clerk’s office). She married Robert O. Bates and became a homemaker and mother to her surviving son, Rob Bates, 57, of Port Orchard.

Signe enjoyed being a mother and taking family vacations. She also enjoyed many crafts and hobbies – woodworking being her favorite.

The family wishes to extend special thanks and appreciation to her many Visiting Angels caregivers for all they did.

Signe was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Bates after 50 years of marriage. She was the last surviving child of Signe and Henry Orseth of Poulsbo; originally from Norway.
