Stanley Snartland

Stanley Torkel Snartland, 64 of Lake Bay, went home to be with the Lord September 6, 2009 in Tacoma.  He was born August 1, 1945 in Seattle, WA to Torkel & Ida (Clemens) Snartland.  He graduated from West Bremerton HS in 1963.  He married Sally Elaine Hyde February 28, 1985 in Idaho. Stan was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local #26 in Bremerton and the Harper Evangelical Free Church in Southworth.  He enjoyed antiques and loved to read anything and everything about history and world wars.  He also liked good old movies, classic cars and old books.  He enjoyed going to the ocean and discovering lighthouses and anything that had some history to it.  He was also a friend of Bill W. Surviving are his loving wife Sally; step-children Robin & Sonya Hyde of CA, Jeff & Heidi Hyde of UT, Chris & Elaine Baker of Port Orchard, and Beth Hyde of Port Orchard; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and step-granddaughter Briana Aileen Hyde. Memorial service 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.  Reception will follow at Harper Evangelical Free Church, also in Port Orchard.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Harper Evangelical Free Church, Childrens Building Fund, 10384 SE Sedgwick Road, PO Box 150, Southworth WA 98386 (360) 871-1230.
