Stephanie’s Story
Stephanie Ann Helvey, age 37 of Poulsbo, Washington was welcomed into the arms of Jesus October 21, 2021. She was born August 26, 1984 in Sydney, Australia to Bob & Kathy Helvey, sister of Jessica and Robby.
Stephanie was special from the very beginning. Being diagnosed with autism at age one, she was a treasure to her mother and father, joy to her big sister Jessica and had a special connection to her little brother, Robby. She had the sweetest disposition you could ask for as a child – bright and often with the cutest smile. Due to the tireless care of her mother, soon learn how to speak, read and later to write and discover Jesus. At 21 she graduated from high school.
Stephanie loved ‘fluffy’ things. It started early when she enjoyed flipping her mother’s long, beautiful hair, then graduated to following around our golden retriever, Anzac, waving her hands through his abundant, fluffy blond tail. Even in her last days she would often pat her brother’s hair with this cute, rascally smile.
Unfortunately, in her latter years she developed seizure syndrome which eventually took her life.
Her family will always remember Stephanie’s irresistible temperament which brought delight to all who spent time with her – adults and children alike. Without realizing it she gave much more than she received. Her mother, father and siblings all agree that that are better people because of Stephanie. We miss her immensely, but we will see her again in the arms of her mother and the one who “bade children to come to Him, because such is the Kingdom of God.”
