Stephen "Tony" A. Ciupek, Sr, 65, of Port Orchard, WA, formerly of Vallejo, CA, died December 5, 2006, at his home. Tony was born to Stephen and Mary Belle (Mead) Ciupek on August 1, 1941, in Vallejo, CA. He attended high school in San Bernardino, CA. Tony worked for 35 years at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1995. He started out as a Marine Machinist before advancing to Code 133 Records Inspector. Tony belonged to the North Bay Trail Riders Club in Vallejo. He enjoyed watching sports, especially NASCAR and motocross, and watching Lakers basketball with his daughter. Reading, spending time with his family, and playing in a band called "Past The Pull Date" at the Theler Center in Belfair, WA, were important parts of Tony's life. Tony was preceded in death by his son Stephen A. Ciupek, Jr; a previous wife Jane; brother Philipp Tacker; and a sister Donna Marie Lindsey. He is survived by his daughter Laura (Larry) Taylor, of Port Orchard, WA; father Stephen (Jessie) Ciupek, of Vallejo, CA; brother Paul Ciupek, of TX; sisters Shelley Johnson, of OR, Patricia Ciupek, of CA, and Roberta Metcalfe, of WA; 3 grandchildren Jeff, Greg, and Kim; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Luanne Jermain, of San Bernardino, CA. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 18, 2006, 3PM, at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, WA. Tony's remains will be inurned at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
