Steven Duane Borchers

Steve D. Borchers, 58, of Orting, WA was called to our Lord on Friday May 23, 2014 due to complications from cancer. He was born on January 6, 1956 in Bremerton, WA to Ken & Herta Borchers. He spent his first 17 years growing up in Port Orchard and graduated from South Kitsap High in 1974.

Steve joined the Air Force in 1975 and retired in 1999 as a MSGT. He traveled to many locations and countries throughout his career and met his wife of 33 years in Greece. After retiring from the Air Force, Steve went on to become a lead investigator for the Target Corporation from 1999 to the present. In recent years his Harley was his passion, taking many trips and enjoying the thrill of the open road.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and son. Steve will be missed profoundly.

Survivors include his wife Debbie; children Justin and Randi (Taylor); siblings Robert, Pam (Bruce), Brian (Trish), Larry (Joyce); father Ken; 6 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of long time extended family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Herta Borchers.

Steve’s Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on June 11, 2014 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard followed by inurnment with military honors at Sunset Lane Memorial Park. Memorial Donations in Steve's name are suggested for Pierce County Crime Stoppers.
