Mr. Steven Bucsit Sanchez died after a long term illness, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on August 7, 2001.Mr. Sanchez was born on August 3, 1914 at Bacnotan La Union, Philippines, to Anselmo and Elrya(Bucsit) Sanchez.He graduated from San Fernando La Union High School, Philippine Islands, in 1930.On April 15, 1971 Mr. Sanchez married Candida Vergara at Bainbridge Island, Washington.He was a Shipfitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Shop #11, retiring in 1973.Mr. Sanchez was a member of Knights of Columbus, and the Filipino American Community of Kitsap County. He was also a member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church of Port Orchard.He is survived by his wife, Candida(Vergara) Sanchez of the family home in Port Orchard; Son, Steven Sanchez Jr. of Yelm, Washington; Son, Stephen Sanchez of Seattle, Washington; Brother, Pio Sanchez of the Philippine Islands; Sister, Persegona Valmonte, also of the Philippines. Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his Parents, Anselmo and Elerya(Bucsit) Sanchez;his first wife, Teresa Sanchez(Vergara); a Brother, Domingo Sanchez; and one Sister, Magdelena Bucsit.Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2001, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., at Rill Chapel, 1151 Mitchell Avenue, Port Orchard, Washington. a Rosary will be held in Mr. Sanchez's honor at Rill Chapel on Sunday, August 12, 2001 at 5 p.m..A funeral mass is scheduled at 11 a.m.,Monday, August 13, 2001, at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, 1150 Mitchell Avenue, Port Orchard. Burial will follow at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.Funeral arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
