Stuart H. ''Tex'' Marks, 64, of Eugene, Oregon, died April 8, 2001, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington.Stuart was born August 24, 1936, in Havre, Montana, to Charles and Helen (Kapernick) Marks. He graduated from Brownsville High School in Brownsville, Texas, in 1954 and from Pan American College in Edinburg, Texas, in 1958.On November 12, 1960, Stuart married Janice Reischman in Bremerton. Stuart worked as a journeyman sheetmetal worker at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton and then as a production controller at PERA-CV, retiring in 1991. During the 1960's, he also served the Bremerton Police Department as a reserve police officer.While living in the North Mason County area of Washington State, Stuart volunteered with the fire department in Grapeview as well as the Grapeview School District as a Board Member. After moving to Montana, he dedicated part of his life to Carpenters For Christ in Stevensville.Stuart kept himself busy with numerous activities, including rebuilding classic cars, hunting, gardening, cross country skiing, writing, drawing and painting, and fixing anything that he could tinker with. Stuart belonged to St. Mark Catholic Church in Eugene.Survivors include his wife, Janice of Eugene; his mother, Helen of Eugene; three sons, Jim, and his wife Dana of Eugene, Jeff, and his wife Lola of Pasco, Washington, Joe, and his wife Teri of Belfair, Washington; two daughters, Janelle Marks, and her husband Bill Zielinski of Columbia, Maryland, and Jackie Marks of Eugene; eight grandsons and 4 granddaughters.A memorial service is planned for 2PM, Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington. A reception will follow in the Community Room at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard.
