Swen Hansen

September 29, 1920 — October 22, 2010

Swen Robert Hansen, 90 a resident of Port Orchard, went home to be with the Lord on October 22. He was born September 29, 1920 in Seattle, WA to Swen Godfried and Helen Wilmot (Aukland) Hansen. He graduated from Queen Anne HS in 1939 and Edison Tech School in 1941, both in Seattle. He married Peggy Louise Milner on November 12, 1943 in Seattle. Swen served in the United States Navy form 1944 – 1946 achieving the rank of MM2. He taught sheet metal layout in Seattle retiring in 1976. He owned a prop repair business and was captain on charter fishing and pleasure boats. He built Metal boats and mahogany out board boats. He was an Elder, Sunday School teacher, song leader and quartet member in the Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and sailing. He designed and furnished the kitchen at the Laurelhurst church and was the building chairman for the Bellewood church. He was preceded in death by his son Swen Robert Hansen, Jr.  and daughter  Patricia Louise Sandwick. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Peggy Louise and sons Lloyd Thomas (Betty) Hansen, John Fredrick (Susie)  Hansen and William Milner (Carol) Hansen; son-in-law Dick Sandwick; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A private family celebration will be held.
