Sydney Loucks

June 13, 1918 — December 6, 1999

Sydney Raymond Loucks, age 81, died December 6, 1999 in Bellevue, WA.  He was born June 13, 1999 in Vashon Island, WA to Rodney and Vinita (New) Loucks.  He was raised in Seattle, WA and graduated from Queen Anne High School in Seattle in 1938.  He also attended the Chef Training School at Edison Technical School in Seattle.  He served in the U.S. Army, in Africa, for 4 years during World War II.  He most recently worked as a chef and meat cutter at Washington State Veterans Home in Retsil, WA for 25 years before retiring in 1974.  He served in the Bremerton Police Department for 2 years after serving in the U.S. Army.  He is survived by his wife Elsie (Laine) Loucks whom he married in Seattle, WA September 12, 1953.  He is also survived by his son Drew Loucks of San Jose, CA., daughter Nanette Bollman of Enumclaw, WA., brother Gordon Loucks of Port Orchard, WA., grandchildren; Ben and Clark Bollman, Amy, Arron and Adam Loucks.  A private family gathering will be held.  Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, WA.  Memorial donations may be made to the Care Center at Kelsey Creek HOospice Unit, 2210 132nd Ave SE, Bellevue, wA 98005.
