Sylvia Ann Brown

Sylvia Ann Brown passed away on December 21, 2015 at the age of 85, at Life Care Center in Port Orchard. She was born on May 25, 1930 to Del and Nina Page of Seattle. She grew up in the Freemont District.

Sylvia married Earl A. Brown in the late 40's.They would live in many places including Walla Walla, Port Angeles, Ellensburg while Earl went to school and apprentised to become a Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director. In 1965, Earl, Sylvia and their two sons Bruce and Kenneth moved to Cle Elum, Wash after buying the local Funeral Home from the Colemans, soon to rename it Brown's Funeral Chapel. There they worked the business for over 20 years until Earl's failing health forced the sell of the business to Paul Cotton of Ellensburg. Earl died July 30, 1989.

Sylvia moved to Tacoma in the early 90's. She lived in various places including University Place, again in Cle Elum, Ellensburg and then finally in Stelicoom. Her health began to decline after loosing strength in her legs and at that time she came to Life Care Center in Port Orchard for rehab. After about a year she was able to move to Bay Vista Commons in Bremerton, an assisted living facility. Sylvia lived there for over 2 years. Failing health (again her legs and having memory problems) found her back at Life Care Center in late November, 2015. She died one month later. Sylvia loved to garden and shop QVC.

She is preceded in death by her husband Earl, son Bruce, brothers Frank and Bruce and sisters Helen, Metta and Doris. She is survived by her son Kenneth of Port Orchard and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
