Tami Lynn Carvalho
1964-2014
Tami was born July 17, 1964, in Seaside, Oregon, to Dick and Rosalie Nickens, of Cannon Beach Oregon.
She grew up in Cannon Beach, with two siblings
; playing in the sand, exploring nearby forests and riding horses.
She attended Cannon Beach Elementary School and graduated from Seaside High School in 1982.
She then attended and graduated from Ecola Hall Bible College. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.
Tami lived most of her adult life in the Seattle, Washington area, working at Value Village in the early years, then joining Holowchuk Wood Services, in 2002. She became a highly skilled wood touch-up artist and worked in many of the local billionaires’ homes and yachts.
In 2007 she married David Carvalho, of Port Orchard, Washington, who preceded her in death in Sept of 2013. They were married in Hawaii and enjoyed several Hawaiian vacations since. She and her husband also went on frequent camping outings and enjoyed other outdoor sports.
There were no children.
Tami passed away in her Port Orchard home on the morning of September 4th, 2014.
She was also preceded in death by her father, Dick Nickens and has left behind her mother, Rosalie C. Nickens and sister Jodi Williams, both of Aloha, OR., brother, Eddie Nickens of Portland and nieces, Vanessa, Christina, Hanna and Lexi; and nephews Justin, Brandon, Aaron, Nathan and Zach.
She also left behind two beloved dogs who still desperately need a loving home.
Funeral service is being held at Rill's Life Tribute Center, 1151 Mitchell Ave, in Port Orchard, WA 98366, at 2:00pm on Monday, September 22. It will be followed by a Celebration of Life service at her home church, Congregation Beth El, 2095 SE Cedar Road, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
