On November 13, 2021, after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer, our dear friend Teresa E. Thompson joined her mother Donna Marrs, father Clarence Marrs, sister Cecile Sims, sister Sandra Copp, brother Glen Marrs, and granddaughter Lucee, in the kingdom of heaven.
Teresa is survived by her devoted husband Gene Thompson, daughters Tonya Jones and Nicole Jones, step-daughter Trisha Bartlett (Aaron Bartlett), sisters Barbara Nahaku, Nadeen Bradley, Darlene Allman (Michael Allman), Lynda Thein, and many nieces and nephews. She was also known as Nana to 10 grandchildren, plus one on the way; Anelise, Jaysin, Braden, Trent, Zoe, Jordan, Emerald, Ruby, Lucee, Kenneth, and a sweet baby girl due early 2022.
Born on August 10, 1958 (the baby of the family) Teresa grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington and could be found riding horses with her sister Lynda, picking berries on the power line road, or enjoying long walks and just hanging out with her friends. Although shy, she made friends easily. Teresa graduate from Peninsula High School in 1976, going on to earn her associate’s degree. Teresa enjoyed a long career with Olympic College, retiring with many, many, many friends. Teresa was known to be a lover of handbags, shoes, and all the sparkly jewelry, spending hours happily shopping at her favorite outlet malls.
In 1994 Teresa met the love of her life, Gene Thompson. After dating for two years, the two love birds wed in Reno, Nevada, beginning their many adventures as husband and wife. Together they would dance, listen to music, attend concerts, watch NASCAR and cheer for the Seahawks. They enjoyed vacationing in Reno, NV, Las Vegas, NV, and Seaside, OR. Seaside was one of Teresa’s favorite places. Teresa and Gene
were partners in love, sickness, health, good and not so good, together always. They also enjoyed spoiling their grandchildren, attending many soccer games, plays, dance recitals, and countless birthdays and other celebrations.
Teresa will be dearly missed and forever loved. Her legacy will live on as a warrior, having fought cancer bravely for nearly 20 years. Until we meet again, rest in peace Teresa, mom, nana.
There will be a celebration of life held at a private residence in February 2022.
