Terry Richard Hale

February 6, 1946 — June 18, 2018

Terry Richard Hale Age 72, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Monday, June 18th, doing what he loved. He was riding his mountain bicycle in Port Townsend with grade-school buddies, doing a 15-mile ride.

Born and raised in Tacoma, he leaves behind his loving family and wife of 50 years, Ragnhild (Roni) Hale. Terry retired as the Director of Information Systems Technology for Pierce County and received his MBA from Seattle University, undergrad from UPS, and attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma, class of 1964.

Terry and Roni had an adventuresome life continuously involved in God, family, friends, travel, and a thirst for reading. He vigorously worked out at the YMCA, and remained very active in his grandchildren's lives. He was into cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and fitness, a 2nd degree black belt in martial arts, and pursued adventures in travel. He will be truly missed, and we love him dearly.

Terry is survived by his wife Roni Hale; daughter Tonya Caffery, married to Hugh Caffery, children Hale (17), Isabelle (12), Julianna (10), and Charlie (5); and son Travis Hale, married to Lisa Hale (Baldwin), with children Macy (13) and Piper (11).

Services will be Saturday, June 30th, 11:00 am, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1315 N Stevens St, Tacoma, WA 98406, with a Celebration of Life and sharing to follow at 12:30 at Tacoma Yacht Club, 5401 Yacht Club Road, Tacoma, WA 98407.
