Terry Maxwell Munson Sr.

Terry Munson Sr., 73, of Port Orchard WA passed away at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton on October 15, 2014 after unanticipated complications relating to heart surgery. He was a lifelong Kitsap County resident who was born in Bremerton to Carl and Lorraine Munson. Terry graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1959 and went on to serve locally in the United States Coast Guard Reserves. He later earned his MBA at the University of Puget Sound and worked for more than thirty years at the Puget Sound Navel Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility before retiring to dabble in a range of occupations he found entertaining, especially long haul trucking and evaluating candidates in several trucking certification programs. Terry enjoyed being outdoors, especially when it involved skiing, hiking or sailing with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Linda Munson, his daughter, Michelle Davis (Aaron), his son Terry Munson Jr. (Tammy), two compassionate sisters--Virginia Scott and Lynn Hunt (Carl)--four loving and highly talented grandchildren, and many caring nieces and nephews. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Wednesday, October 22 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers his family requests that donations be made to the Kurt Wagner Education Fund, the Kitsap County Humane Society or the South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank:
