Thane Hoyte

Thane Scott Hoyte of Southworth, Washington died of cancer at his residence December 2, 2003. Thane had fought cancer for 35 years. He was born September 18, 1964 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Barry and Sandra (Wallace) Hoyte. Thane married Delia (Ortiz) Hoyte June 27, 1998 in South Colby, Washington. She died December 23, 2002. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1982. Thane started in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard June 18, 1981. He was a marine machinery mechanic. Thane was a member of Kitsap Dive Team; played baseball and football and soccer as a youngster. He was an avid bowler (mixed doubles), worked with Boy Scouts; and was an avid artist and photographer. Thane is survived by his parents - Barry and Sandra (Wallace) Hoyte of Manchester, Washington; brothers - Seth Hoyte (& wife, Michelle) of Tucson, Arizona, Thor Hoyte (& wife, Amy) of Tacoma, Washington; paternal grandmother - Ruth C. Duggleby of Oneonta, New York; maternal grandmother - Phyllis Wallace of Cadiz, Ohio; various aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delia. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 7, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 8, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington.
