Thelma I. Bachand of Port Orchard, Washington died of heart failure December 10, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. She was 83. She was born May 19, 1920 in Casper, Wyoming to Seth and Emma (Friend) Peebles. She married Ulric "Curley" Bachand. Thelma was a homemaker and worked for NAD Park Ammunition Depot during WWII as a tool room keeper. She was a member of ALNON; loved crafts; was an avid walker; volunteered at Manchester Elementary School Library. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Thelma is survived by son - Robert Bachand of Port Orchard; daughter - Cheryl Reite of Port Orchard; 2 grandchildren (Jason Bachand and Shelly Henderson); 2 great-grandchildren (Avery Henderson and Jayla Bachand); numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: sister - Violet Cruz and brother - Les Peebles. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2003. Memorial Donations may be made to: Hospice of Kitsap County P.O.
