Thelma D. Boink, of Port Orchard, WA passed away on April 11, 2013, in Bremerton, WA after a short illness at the age of 100.
She was born May 11, 1912, in Yakima, WA to Archibald G. and Lela Thompson.
She attended school in Yakima until her father's death in 1919 which at that time the family moved to Michigan where she was raised.
When she was 18 years of age she moved to California where she worked for Long's Drug Store until 1942 when she met and married the love of her life Roland R. Boink in Las Vegas, NV. They were married for 56 years until his death in 1999 in Port Orchard.
Thelma was a very remarkable woman. She was always there for anyone who needed help especially for her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family especially her three grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Roland R. Boink, and daughter Pamela E. Hodges both of Port Orchard. She is survived by her son Raymond H. Boink (Kathleen) of Port Orchard; three grandchildren Athena R. Hodges of Bremerton, WA, Christopher R. Boink and Ryan R. Boink both of Port Orchard, WA; numerous nieces and nephews.
