Theodore L. "Teddy" Bertsch, 65 of Port Orchard, Washington died in Bremerton, Washington on March 17, 2007. He was born on November 27, 1941 in Vallejo, California to Theodore & Anita (Rathjen) Bertsch. Teddy graduated from Vallejo High School in 1960. He worked for 33 years as a Planner & Estimator Pipefitter at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, retiring in 1993. Teddy enjoyed being a father to his sons. He loved sports cars, golfing and building. He was a volunteer at Harrison Memorial Hospital, member of NARFE, Glass Odyssey Corvette Club, and was first chair violin with Vallejo Symphony. Surviving are sons Greg (Patti) Bertsch of Seattle and Tim (Nia) Bertsch of Port Orchard; brothers Jerry Bertsch of Cave Junction, Oregon and Charlie Rathjen; sister Joan (Leon) Sizemore of Petaluma, California; and grandchildren Izzi Drake Bertsch of Seattle and Miles Vaughn Wolfgang Bertsch of Port Orchard. Memorial service at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Harrison Memorial Hospital Foundation.
