Theodore Borchers

Theodore R. Borchers, Jr., 83, died at home in Port Orchard November 7, 2010.  He was born February 5, 1927 in Retsil, WA to Theodore R. Borchers, Sr. & Cynthia Anne Wyant.  He graduated from South Kitsap HS in 1948 and remarried Reva A. Jones on September 16, 1999 in Carson City, NV.  She preceded him in death earlier this year. Theodore worked as a Carpenter at the WA State Veterans Home in Retsil, retiring in 1979.  He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII, earning the Army Occupation & Victory Medals. Theodore enjoyed coin collecting, hunting, camping, & his children’s sporting events.  He was a member of the Arbor Day Foundation & American Numismatic Association.  Surviving are sons Ted (Cheryl), James & Phillip (Marcella) Borchers and daughters Beverly Borchers, Bonnie (Tom) Hackney, Cynthia (Kenny) Andersen & Shirley (Steve) Henderson, all of Port Orchard; 5 step children; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and uncle Kenneth Borchers of Port Orchard.  He was preceded in death by son Clive T. Borchers. Memorial service at the home of Ted & Cheryl Borchers in Port Orchard on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm.
