Dr. Theodore Walter Walker, of Port Orchard, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on January 25, 2024.
Ted was born on December 27, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Frances and Clyde Walker. He grew up in Portland and graduated from Sunset High School. After high school, Ted proudly served in the United States Navy from 1966-1972.
He fell in love with Debra at Portland Community College in 1973. They both attended Linfield College together. Their love grew and they were married at St. Pius X Catholic Church on June 28, 1975 in Portland. Ted attended Medical School at Oregon Health Sciences University from 1977-1981 and completed his residency at Oregon State Hospital. Following the births of Jenny, Christy, and Leslie, they moved to Washington where he became a very well-respected psychiatrist at Western State Hospital for close to 30 years. He loved his patients dearly.
He was passionate about spending time with his family, his Catholic faith, and his country. His hobbies included riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, sailing, kayaking, and working on family genealogy.
Ted is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debra, his three daughters (Jenny, Christy, and Leslie), sister (Diane), twin brother (Michael), his grandson (Teddy), as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
