Thomas Bellerby

Mr. Thomas Michael Bellerby, Age: 82, died at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on December 10, 2001. He had been a long time resident of Port Orchard, Washington.Thomas Bellerby was born on March 21, 1919 in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, to George William Bellerby and Agnes Mary(Burke)Bellerby. He attended Saint Stevens High School in Portland, Oregon, graduating in 1937. He then attended the University of Portland. Thomas served in the United States Army during World War II and spent part of the war on the island of Iwo Jima.He later worked for the United States Government as a Social Security Administrator. He retired after twenty some years.Mr. Bellerby greatly enjoyed the sport of golf. He was a member of Saint Gabriel's Catholic Church in Port Orchard.Mr. Bellerby is survived by his companion, Barbara Bellerby; a niece, Linda Bellerby; and numerous relatives in the Portland, Oregon region.He was preceded in death by four brothers.A memorial service in his honor will be held at Mount Scott Funeral Home in Portland on Friday, December 14, 2001 at 1 p.m.. He will be inurned at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society.Arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory in Port Orchard.
