Thomas F. Butler died May 15, 3003 at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. He was 68.He was born January 13, 1935 in Augusta, Kansas to Lewis I. and Vivian F. (Cook) Butler.He married Alice J. (Gladen) Butler December 16, 1957 in Longbeach, California.He graduated from Augusta High School in Augusta, Kansas in 1953. He also attended Wichita University in Wichita, Kansas.He served in the U.S. Navy from January 31, 1955 to February 5, 1959. He attained rank of Machinists Mate First Class.Thomas worked as an outside machinist, Shop 38 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 34 years.He also worked as a pilot for Cross Sound Commuter Airlines for 7 years.He was an avid Boy Scout supporter; was active in Masonic Lodge and Shriner organizations; was a Poggie Club member; loved fishing and camping, hiking, building fishing rods; and, flying was his passion.He was a member of the Silverdale Seventh Day Adventist Church.Thomas is survived by his wife, Alice Butler, of the family home in Port Orchard, Washington; sons - Anthony T. Butler (& wife, Barbara) of Tahuya, Washington, John T. Butler of Port Orchard, Washington; 3 grandchildren: Jessica (Butler) Harnish of Kingston, Washington, Franklin Butler of Bremerton, Washington, Michael Butler of Bremerton, Washington; 1 great-grandchild: Isabella Butler of Bremerton, Washington.A Memorial Service for Thomas will be June 1, 2003 at 3:00 PM at the Mason Temple, located at 1025 Sidney Ave., Port Orchard, Washington.
